During this pandemic we wanted to touch base with our TFL local makers & other small businesses to see how they are doing & see what creative solutions they have come up with to stay afloat during this trying time to be small.

ATTN: FAN GIRL MOMENT! We were so excited to interview Idlewild Co. for our COVID catch up today. Katie Gastley is the illustrator and founder of this beloved Florida based stationery and gift company and gives us some really wonderful insight as to how she is preparing Idlewild for the future and what creative things they have come up with to stay in touch with their audience as well as how to give back to their community. It's a really wonderful interview and we hope you enjoy.

We have some Idlewild Co. product currently in our online shop and shop their whole line at https://idlewildco.com and support this amazing Florida business.

Happy Earth Day everyone! For this very special day we knew we wanted to talk to a farmer in our community so who else would we turn to than Green Flamingo Organics based out of Oak Hill, Florida just 15 miles south of good ol' New Smyrna Beach. For those of you who live in the area you might know that Green Flamingo Organics has been selling their produce in our side lot at The Florida Local for the past month or so while we've been closed and we LOVE having them there. Green Flamingo farmer and founder, Liz, is such an amazing member of our tight knit community here in NSB and we wanted to check in and see how she was doing. Enjoy this interview and see what is popping off in her garden and how you can support local farmers during this time.

If you are interested in learning more about Green Flamingo Organics and/or signing up for their mailing list, be sure to head over to their website https://greenflamingoorganics.com or if you are in the New Smyrna Beach area head over to The Florida Local at 202 Julia Street from 7am - 12pm every Saturday to get your farm fresh and local veggies!

If you are looking for a GREAT resource to find local produce and even local meats in your area, check out Keep Florida Growing and support local farmers wherever you are in Florida https://www.fdacs.gov/Agriculture-Industry/Keep-Florida-Growing

And as always #supportlocal

If you are familiar with our seasonal coffee menu items you know we love us some Stubbees honey! We exclusively use Stubbees honey in all of our yummy coffee drinks and is our honey brand of choice for retail as well. Stubbees is a family run and operated business in Jacksonville and this family is just such a delight for us to work with which is why we chose Justin for our second COVID Catch Up interview. One of Stubbees' brick-and-mortar locations is in the heart of Jacksonville Beach which made headline news when they reopened their beaches last week. Justin offers some REALLY great insight on how consumers are reacting to the slow re-opening of our economy.

If you are craving some of Stubbees' delicious whipped orange zest honey or need to stock up on some of their natural BEE-OH deodorant, be sure to check out their online shop https://stubbees.com .
